If you need a reminder of what LR does for you, go cold turkey on LR for a month and just work in Capture NX-D and see how efficient and productive you become. If all you do in NX (or DPP) is apply the camera settings to the RAW and output a 16-bit TIFF, what does that step and the monstrous files add to your workflow? If you just want the camera settings, why not just shoot in JPEG? The same is true for Canon's DPP vs Adobe LR or ACR.įor LR vs all comers, including Nikon NX Studio, you get what you pay for. Immediately with LR you'll see the image colors are most saturated and more 'like' the camera's JPEGs.
